Rense Lubach specialises in the interface between public and private law, with a particular focus on private government law and government liability. He advises and litigates for (local) authorities, insurance companies, district water boards, non-profit organisations and supervisory bodies in various disputes. He is the author of a thesis on “Liability for independent contractors” (Doctorate at the University of Groningen, 2005).
After having gained more than 10 years of practical experience in Amsterdam at one of the largest law firms in the Netherlands, Rense joined Nysingh as a lawyer in 2016.
In addition to his work as a lawyer, Rense is a permanent lecturer at OSR Legal Training in Utrecht and one of the editors of “Maandblad voor Vermogensrecht” (Boom Juridische Uitgevers) and an online knowledge database on administrative compensation law (Sdu). Rense is also a guest lecturer for the course in Governance, Liability and Private Law at the University of Groningen. Lastly, he is also a regular lecturer or speaker at conferences.
