Ekram Belhadj is a senior associate and specialises in Competition law and European law.

 

She advises companies and health care institutions on all aspects of Competition law, such as cooperation agreements, distribution agreements, and market strategies. Her clients are active in a wide range of industries, such as food, health care, and construction. She has significant experience in representing companies in cartel investigations, merger filings, leniency applications and dawn raids. Within the health care sector she has a particular experience in filing mergers with the Dutch Healthcare Authority. She was also appointed as compliance officer by one of the largest professional associations in the Netherlands. She also gives compliance and dawn raid trainings.

 

In the area of state aid law Ekram advises on complex financial relations between government bodies and companies relating to for instance infrastructure (ports, rail, arenas, terminals), sales of land, guarantees, broadband, sustainable energy and agriculture. She also has wide experience in filing state aid notifications on behalf of her clients and discussing these with the European Commission. In these fields, she also litigates before courts, including disputes between private parties. She also gives presentations on a broad range of subjects relating to European law and Competition law. Furthermore, since 2014 she has been lecturing on specific topics of competition law at the Utrecht University.
