Corporate lawyer

My name is Julie Aben. Within the corporate law department, I focus on commercial contracts and insolvency law. I advise and litigate on a broad range of related matters, such as directors’ liability, general terms and conditions and various types of agreements such as distribution and agency contracts. I am also involved in the settlement and administration of bankruptcies.

I studied at the University of Groningen, where I completed a Master’s degree in Dutch law, specialising in private law, corporate law and criminal law. Before joining Nysingh, I gained practical experience at other law firms, partly through work placements.

The client relationship is central to my practice. I take a proactive approach and aim for efficient and constructive solutions that serve my clients’ best interests. At the same time, I maintain a strong focus on the legal dimension: I work precisely, critically and with great attention to detail. My background in multiple areas of law enables me to analyse issues from different angles.

Timely advice can prevent many disputes. I therefore prefer to work with clients at an early stage to map out potential legal challenges. If problems do arise, I make it a priority to explain the legal aspects clearly and to work with the client toward a sustainable resolution.
