Register of legal practice areas

Lawyers are required to register with the legal practice areas register of the Dutch Bar Association (NOvA) after completing their traineeship. This register records the areas of law in which lawyers specialise.

Reference to the NOvA practice areas register

The register contributes to the professionalisation of the legal profession and helps clients find lawyers with the appropriate expertise. Lawyers can register between one and four main areas of law in the register. To maintain their registration, they must earn ten training points per specialisation each year.

The NOvA search tool, “Find a lawyer”, makes it easy to find a lawyer by name, area of law or location.

Nysingh lawyers

Nysingh’s lawyers are also registered in the practice areas register, giving clients confidence in their specialist knowledge and up-to-date legal expertise.
