My name is Marjolijn van Deventer and I specialise in employment law. My areas of expertise include the business sector, education and the public sector. I advise directors, boards, HRM departments and supervisory authorities on their legal and strategic challenges. I provide this advice in areas such as employment disputes, partnership structures, restructuring, employment conditions and competition and compliance issues.
As a mediator registered with the Dutch Federation of Mediators Foundation, I specialise in employment and collaboration disputes. In my role of mediator I believe it is important that both parties feel at ease and that – under my guidance – they are able to find a satisfactory solution to their conflict. Expertise, diligence, professionalism and independence are crucial in this regard.
‘Strategic thinker’ with ‘legal acumen’ are two apt descriptions of me. My approach is to be solution oriented and practical. I am in touch with my clients’ interests and I am good at taking my clients’ concerns out of their hands. Once I start working on a case, I set to work expeditiously and go to great lengths to help my clients without hesitating to be critical towards them. Only by doing so can one be each other’s best sparring partner, set out the most effective legal path and be successful.
In addition to my work as a lawyer and mediator, I do a lot of ancillary work that shares common ground with my specialisms. Please visit my LinkedIn page for a detailed resume.
I regularly share news, insights and knowledge on the Nysingh blog about recent developments in employment law and mediation. I am also a speaker at the Nysingh Academy.
Please feel free to call or email me.
