My name is Simone Koelewijn and I specialise in healthcare. My expertise lies in health law, I advise and litigate mainly for disabled care, psychiatry and youth care organisations as well as for hospitals and individual healthcare providers. I do this in civil, administrative and disciplinary matters as well as in proceedings before the Disputes Committee.

My work covers a wide range of subject-matter, such as privacy and confidentiality, clients’ councils, supervision, the Long-Term Care Act, the Care and Compulsion Act and the Mandatory Mental Healthcare Act. I also conduct proceedings with regard to curatorship, administration and mentorship.

Before joining Nysingh, I obtained a master’s degree in health law at the University of Amsterdam and, before that, a master’s degree in private law at Utrecht University. I have also worked at the Velink & De Die Advocaten, a law firm specialising in healthcare. My full resume is available on LinkedIn.

I enjoy getting to grips with complex legal issues and completing the legal puzzle. I decided to pursue the legal profession because of its dynamism, the wide range of clients it attracts and the various health law issues involved.
