My name is Marlies Witting. I have been a lawyer since 2015 and specialise in the field of liability and compensation law, with a particular focus on personal injury. I advise and litigate on government liability, employer’s liability, medical liability and related matters. I do so for various public and semi‑public bodies, insurers, and companies facing damages claims.

Before joining Nysingh, I worked at Pels Rijcken, the firm of the State advocate. There, I gained extensive experience in advising on and conducting civil (including cassation) proceedings, as well as in the judicial and out‑of‑court settlement of substantial personal injury and wrongful‑death claims for various public authorities and insurers I also worked at the Groningen Mining Damage Institute, where I gained substantial experience in designing and implementing large‑scale (non‑material) compensation schemes related to the gas extraction in Groningen.

I endeavour to find the best and most sustainable solution with minimum legal friction. I believe it is essential to be mindful of the emotional aspect as well. I am thoughtful and analytical, and I set out arguments clearly and succinctly. My clients value me for my clear advice and written submissions, which are concise and expressed in plain, accessible language.

If you would like to know more or to make my acquaintance, feel free to call or email me.
