Nysingh attorneys and notaries start new year with new associate
As of Jan. 1, 2024, Carola van Andel will join Nysingh as an associate.
My name is Carola van Andel. I specialise in digital transition, energy and sustainability, land policy, and area development. My expertise lies in land issues, expropriation and compensation for loss resulting from administrative acts. Much of my daily practice is devoted to dealing with the implications of the Didam judgment and advising on agreements between municipalities and private individuals as well as on recovering costs. My focus is on private law in relation to the public sector, backed up with a thorough grounding in administrative law. Most of the work I do at the interface between these two areas is for public authorities, often on major projects involving collaboration between different organisations. This also requires a thorough knowledge of the Environment and Planning Act.
One example of a project under my responsibility was the ‘Room for the River’ expropriation procedures for the Department of Public Works and Water Management. That operation has made the Netherlands safer, which is something I am very proud of.
I also specialise in privacy law and the GDPR, with a particular focus on privacy and data processing by public authorities. In addition to providing advice, I regularly give in-company and other courses on the GDPR and compliance.
I am driven, committed and creative. I like to get to grips with seemingly complex matters and then offer concrete, solid solutions.
An enthusiastic blogger, I also regularly share news, insights and knowledge about land acquisition and expropriation on Nysingh’s Expropriation blog.
Please feel free to call or email me.
